 ChillOut Festival alt
chillout cowAn annual GLBTQ festival held in Daylesford over Victoria’s long weekend in March. ChillOut has grown to become the largest gay and lesbian festival in regional Australia and the largest festival in Hepburn Shire. Within gay, lesbian and related communities only the city-based festivals attract larger visitor numbers.
ChillOut is dedicated to celebrating gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer pride within the unique setting of regional Victoria. It’s all part of the celebration of diversity, with friends and family, combined with our love for this beautiful part of Victoria - that is ChillOut. Come and enjoy!

Dorothy's Friends

alt

Dorothy's Friends is a monthly event in Ballarat which brings together community members, creates networking opportunities and provides people with a safe, friendly environment in which to socialise, let loose and have fun.

Grampians & Wimmera GLBTI Group (yet to be named)

Is a new group aiming to provide support, social connection, and to promote awareness of the issues facing GLBTI people and their families in the Grampians and Wimmera region.

They are still working out the finer details of how they hope to connect with one another (and even their name is a work in progress, they welcome your suggestions!) ... but over the last few months they have discussed a variety of issues that they hope to advocate change for in their area to improve the lives of their 'alpabet' people and rainbow families. They also aim to create a social calendar of events, outings, BBQ's, camping trips etc etc.

So... if you are interested in advocating for same sex marriage rights, local schools joining the safe schools coalition, organising an annual GLBTI pride festival, rural retreats (and much more!), then they meet on the first Wednesday night of each month at 6pm until about 7.30pm. Meetings will rotate venues between Stawell, Ararat and Horsham.

Their social catchup is on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Venues will be uploaded as they work out where they will be kicking up their heels and what they will be kicking them doing. Bring your friends and spread the word. They know they aren’t the 'only gay's in the village'!
